A difficult image for Pals Cabin fans — the demolition of the famous restaurant to make way for CVS.
Pals closed its doors in June and memorabilia was also sold at auction. Pals was a favorite of many; a taste of Pals Cabin lives on, reinvented at Fairchilds Market.

The destruction of Pal’s Cabin signals the end of an era.
Good-bye, old friend. Thanks for the memories.
There was definitely a need for another CVS.
Would someone please shoot Pals in the back of the head and dump it in the river already? Geesh.
In 2045 will people be just as sad to see the CVS building go down?
Anyone know if Fairchild’s serving Pal’s fare yet?
Yes, Herb. I’ve been to Fairchild’s and enjoyed a Pal’s Hot Turkey Sandwich.
“In 2045 will people be just as sad to see the CVS building go down?”
Only if it’s where they buy their first condom.
ungall….In 2045, condoms will be outlawed. Protected sex will be verboten. Every sperm and egg will be sacred. You will have to show your religious ID in order to vote. You’ll also need an Rx script to get OTC medications……”It’s just a jump to the left and then a step to the right……”
PAZ time warping into the future.
I love when PAZ goes off his meds.
RIP Pal’s. Neglected to ruin. Shame.
Yup, nick danger, the last time I went out with the girls on a lunch date there it was pure melancholy. Everything passes. So too will CVS.
@PAZ agideon promised me a moose ID and lots of tea bags. Will that be sufficient for voting? The condoms I will never miss. I truly hope, however, for the sake of cspn55 that vomiting is still allowed. Please say it will be.
code63….Vomiting will be allowed and it will be cleaned up by wetback androids….Model Nexus 7 I believe but only if you have the bakseesh.
The place is almost flattened as of this morning. Not sure if the rancid smell in the area is from the site, but has the hint of cooking oil gone bad.
The Archwarden and I visited Portland (OR) recently and noticed something… a distinct LACK of big chain drug stores. One has to wonder if the need to purchase Nasonex and corn pads without traveling more than a block or two is a regional thing, or a statement about our quality-of-life. How did we survive before we had CVS, Walgreen and Rite Aid on every corner?
Also, has anybody been to this Fairchild’s? I am curious about it.
The Pals sign on the ground is a sad sight.
I’ve been to Fairchild’s. They offer the genuine Pal’s Food. I believe some of the cooks from Pal’s work there.
Pal’s sign is sad indeed.
