My favorite lunch for my kids would be something healthy that they would eat. But, from my kids' perspective, it has to be peanut butter (smooth for one child; chunky for the other) with grape jelly on whole wheat bread (preferrably not the kind of bread with "stuff" in it). This would be accompanied by chocolate milk, with an apple for the chunky PB lover and a pear for the smooth fan. Ideally, they'd have an Oreo tossed in for good measure!

Oh man, that is an awesome lunch box! It's like a bento but better, because all the bentos I've owned were cheap and the food shifted all around before I could get to eating it. Since I work for Baristanet I'm probably not allowed to enter the contest - but if I am, my favorite kid's lunch (when I was a kid) was a poppyseed bagel with cheese - everyday for two years straight, thanks to Grandma Popples.

My daughters favorite is cream cheese sandwich on rye, cantaloupe, apple juice and something sweet.

Ooh, that is a cool setup. My kid's favorite lunch? Leftovers from taco night.

I don't have kids, but my favorite brown bag is low sodium bologna on whole wheat. Water with a squeeze of water and thin mints that I keep hidden in my office freezer as a snack.

peanut butter on whole wheat with crusts cut off

It's been too many years since I packed lunch for my kids . . . I'll have to go with my granddaughter's favorite lunch instead. Turkey sandwich; pickles; juice or chocolate milk; and "treat du jour."

I don't have kids, just a 10-year-old chocolate Lab. Her favorite lunch is a half-cup of Nutro dried dog food mixed with 2 tablespoons of the wet food, her favorite being the Herring and Sweet Potato variety. This is usually followed by a Milkbone in her Kong toy to keep her busy while we eat our lunch.

My favorie lunch, on the other hand, is romaine lettuce topped with broccolli, edamame, green peas, corn, black beans, red beans and walnuts topped with balsamic vineagrette dressing. I could eat this for 365 days in a row and never get tired of it.

Hands down my son's favorite lunch is salmon burger and couscous...I should eat so well!!

My daughter loves peanut butter and banana on wheat, and then I give her grapes and a tiny square of dark chocolate. I'm thinking of trying almond butter b/c I heard it was healthier.

Well, since he/she isn't born yet, I'll have to guess: Olives & Chips! That's what my wife seems to love lately!

Peanut Butter. and
Jelly.
Sandwich.

Doesn't get better than that, does it?

I am entering to win this for my husband - as he shudders with fear when I present him with the totally un-cool lunch box I have for him to take to work (he must carry it on the train and everything) every morning- He would LOVE this as it is so cool! He even works at a food magazine, so this would be a really cool toy for him to have, and to clunk around.

So his favorite lunch is smoked salmon, with buttered wholewheat bread and I always pop in some fruit and maybe a little chocolate if he has been good! With this lunch box I'd also add some nuts in one compartment so they rattled. You know how (even big) boys like something noisy to carry!!!!!!

Currently my son's favorite lunch comes in the highly portable container I call "Sweeite."

If I win I'll just have to use that cool-looking lunch box myself until he needs it.

(The sacrifices I make for my family... I mean, really.)

Ham and colby cheese with mayo on wheat.

Taylor Ham.

My daughter always asked for beef bologna or tuna on whole wheat toast, with crudites and dip on the side; homemade cookies for dessert. After a few weeks. I found that she was trading her lunch every day with a classmate of hers. The little girl's parents owned a Japanese restaurant, and sent her with a Bento box of Japanese delights every day. She craved American food, and my daughter was delighted with the exotic bounty of Mieko's lunch. I never saw any leftovers, so I guess she shared with other children...or teachers.

My daughter is a vegetarian (by choice, the remainder of the family loves meat!) Lunch becomes very difficult. Her favorite lunch is pita bread, sauce, schredded cheese, and red peppers. She makes her own pita pizzas. The problem is that none of these foods are "allowed" to touch prior to the actual eating. I often send 4 zip locks, individual plastic containers, etc. Environmentally it is a waste of plastics and energy. It also makes for very complex preparation. This lunch box would make life so much easier for her lunches. She also takes peanut butter, crackers and sliced apples often or humus, veggies and pita bread. Again, nothing can touch prior to consumptions. (She's a girl with food rules) What a fabulous design for children that do not eat sandwiches. It also works great for the sandwich eating child!!

My son loves peas.

My son loves carrots with hummos, fish sticks, and pasta. And that's almost every night. Sometimes we switch out green beans and fake chicken nuggets.

No kids here, but I'd imagine they'd like pb&j- who doesn't?

Mrs. M- your salad with romaine, broccoli, edamame, etc, etc, sounds delicious!

fish sticks and ranch dressing. trying to figure out how to pack those in a lunch box.

Ziploc baggie for the fish sticks, a mini tupperware container for the ranch. You can do it! That is, if you don't mind cold fish sticks, of course :)

I don't have kids but my one cat loves and wants whatever I'm eating, so that would include my favorite sandwich: ham and swiss cheese on rye bread with mustard.

Really cool lunchbox. My daughter likes a cheddar cheese (only!) sandwich, grapes and a yogurt tube.

Turkey rolls ups (no bread!), cheddar, grapes, pretzels, and milk. E..v..e..r..y d..a..y!

That is one cool looking lunchbox - I want it to reuse my recessionary leftovers.

my son loves most anything to eat, but cream cheese and jelly might be his favorite.
i love this lunch box!

Depends on the season and the kid... but for simplicity sake I'll say cream cheese and apple butter on Whole Foods wheat bread. Red peppers are a favorite on the side. That will please any of my three kids.

PB&J or the old american cheese sandwich, usually with apple or pear.

I'm curious to know if that lunchbox seals up tightly so liquids don't drip out.

Will food packed inside the PlanetBox spill or drip into another compartment or out the sides when it is carried and stored on its side? What about packing fruits that might release some juice?
PlanetBox is designed to keep foods from "touching each other." When you close your PlanetBox the top and the bottom meet so that foods will not co-mingle, even when carried and stored on its side. The seal on the PlanetBox itself is not designed to hold wet, messy foods like yogurt, dips and applesauce. We created the Big and Little Dippers as an additional option for parents to use for these foods. They have a silicone rubber seal that engages when placed inside the PlanetBox and will create a tight seal.
Here is the info on liquids State Street:

"When packing fruits, the majority of fruits work just fine packed directly in your PlanetBox. In our months of testing we have found that cantaloupes, strawberries, raspberries, and most other cut up fruits will not create enough juice for there to be any spilling. Watermelon and oranges can be tricky however. We have found that if you cut and pack these fruits the night before, they can create a lot of juice that can leak if put directly in the PlanetBox. Therefore, we recommend either cutting and packing these fruits in the morning (they make a lot less juice that way), or packing them in the Big Dipper."

And, while I really want this lunchbox for my daughter, I will not count my comment because I am ineligible to win. :)

If my daughter had this lunchbox, I'd be much less likely to buy hot lunch for her!

Little PAZ likes Organic Brown Cow peach yogurt, Organic Choc milk and Little Bites blueberry muffins.

My little boy loves leftover spinach and chick peas from Satish Palace, brown rice, and blueberries.

My eldest loves chicken salad made with fuji apples, red grapes, dill pickles and mayo on toasted oatmeal bread.

My youngest loves french toast with yogurt.

Both of them get Bunny Grahams, some kind of fruit, and a juice box.

Though sometimes, they do like getting leftover Chinese. Bill & Harry's noodles with shrimp and steamed pork dumplings are their favourites. ;)

Chicken nuggets, edamame and a banana

For my daughter I pack in her lunchbox 1/2 pbj or bagel with cream cheese in a plastic container, strawberries in a small tupperware and yogurt, and on her request, a small container of Purell, with a plastic water bottle and icepack. Needless to say, this 6 year old's lunchbox weighs more than my work bag! Not sure where the icepack will fit with this ecobox...

My kids insist upon fresh mozzarella cheese, balsamic vinegar, and italian bread -- all packaged separately in little plastic containers! This lunchbox would be ideal!!!

Bluegirl - how about a soup-sized thermos for the fish sticks, with reusable glass containers for the ranch dressing?

My daughter loves it if we order sushi for dinner. She knows that the next day she'll get a california roll in her lunch box- we usually serve it with strawberries and bananas plus a "moo" (milk box).

Love this PlanetBox...very cool.

My son loves shumai for lunch (I steam frozen ones off in the am, then keep them warm in a Thermos). I give him some fruit and a bottle of water mixed with apple juice or milk with Ovaltine. While he likes this, he'd prefer pizza or chicken fingers with french fries, cheese doodles, fruit snacks, crackers or cookies, and a BOX of chocolate milk. And he's one of the weird kids who doesn't like peanut butter. Peanuts are ok, but no peanut butter. It's a texture thing.

Favorite lunch?

...Pork Chops and, ah Applesauce...

My son just started Kindergarten this week, and this box would be PERFECT for him!

His favorite lunch is a bagel with cream cheese, cold green beans (yuck!), and yogurt or fruit.

While my child's favorite lunch varies from week to week, he did go through a phase where he asked for his two favorite sandwiches to be combined into one. So I spent a week or so making peanut butter/jelly/hummus/pesto sandwiches for lunch. And he ate them with gusto!

This lunchbox is a beautiful bento. I have been serving bentos for lunch to my kids for years. (1) Wasabi peas or cashews; (2) Teriyaki Chicken or Beef with Rice Noodles; (3) A flower for decoration (ideally a Nasturium that they could eat!); (4) Potato chips (for the crunch!); (5) Fruit. To drink, a Vitamin Water, Plain Water or Orange Juice.

My son's ideal lunch is a hot dog roll and a yogurt. He's a terrible eater and I dream of the day I could fill a lunch box with a variety of healthy foods, but he's three years old and the main staple of his diet is yogurt and bread. Bribing him with a fun lunch box could be just the thing I need.

My son is a GREAT eater - he's always willing to try things. He loves pretty much anything I make for him, but lately he's been favoring brown rice wraps filled with turkey, spinach, cheese and cucumbers. He'll eat any fruit we have that's ripe along with any vegetable that is packable...like I said - a great eater!

My daughter's favorite lunch is cucumber sushi. Her fruit choice would be strawberries or peaches. Add some veggie chips and a fruit leather and she is very pleased!

Even if it is 100 degrees outside my little ones always want chicken noodle soup!

My son LOVES pizza... his favorite lunch is pizza cut into small little triangles, a pear, and a yogurt. PlanetBox looks so cool and useful!

popcorn, fruit, and cheese!

My picky eater loves cream cheese sandwiches on whole wheat bread, cookies, and the jarred peaches from Trader Joe's. I know I'm late to enter, but I figured it can't hurt to comment!
