Summer Camps For Little Kids

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

summercamplittlekids.jpgIt seems like summer is so far away, but now is the time to start registering your kids for summer camp. Whether you're looking for full-time camps, half-day programs or just a week or two to occupy your kids and give you a break - Baristaville has something for you.

Many of these camps fill up quickly, so register soon. Some require you to register in person on a first-come basis, so get there early and expect a long line.

We have broken up our list into two categories: Little Kids and Big Kids. Little Kids are ages 2 1/2 to grade-schoolers -- just don't tell the older ones we called them little. Big Kids are middle-school and high-school kids.

Here are camps for Little Kids (Big Kid camps will be listed tomorrow). Not every camp is listed, though we tried to include as many as we could. If you know of a great camp that's not on our list, please send us an email and we will continue to update. We're also putting up a summer camp link on our sidebar so you will be able to check out our comprehensive list anytime.

if anyone is still looking for a high-quality yet affordable summer camp, i know of a fabulous one! there are still places left in "Around the World in 25 Days: Come backpacking through 20 countries in 25 days."

the best part is the camp leaders are two of nishuane's most beloved teachers: Caitlyn Adams and Marissa May. my daughter is in ms. adam's class this year, and had ms. may for a session too. the children just adore them both because they really know how to make learning fun!

please register TODAY, because due to low enrollment in some of the weeks, the camp is in danger of being cut short!

here are the details:
the camp is for grades 1-3, at nishuane elementary, June 28-July 30th, 9:00am - 1:00pm m-f. $195/week = just under $10/hr. extended Day is available from 7:00am to 6:00pm for an additional fee of $130/week, which comes to under $4/hr. you can register for single weeks, or all five.

and here's more information from the website where you can register: www.workfamily.org

"During camp your child will learn about a different country each day (Mon-Thurs). The children will hear music from each country, cook a traditional food, play a traditional sport, and make a craft related to the countries.
