Gas Lamp Lights Broadway

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

gaslamplightsbroadway.JPG Over 100 kids have been rehearsing at Ridgewood Avenue school in Glen Ridge this summer to bring the original production Gas Lamp Lights Broadway to the community next month.

Gas Lamp Players, founded by Jessica Sporn, has been offering a summer program for 4 years and each year enrollment grows. This summer 106 kids from kindergarten through 8th grade have worked together to bring Broadway to the stage. Written by Director Kristy Graves, Gas Lamp Lights Broadway features classic songs and introduces many famous historical characters who shaped Broadway from its vaudeville days to its "Golden Age" after WWII.

With such a large cast of kids, shows are expected to sell out.
