Love this place. Consistently excellent, adventurous food and that rarity of rarities-- a full bar! Only thing missing from the menu is a killer fish 'n chips (which I understand is an occasional special). Lovely staff, cordial owner, all-around winner. Highly recommended!
WAY too loud, and too expensive for the quality of the food.
This place will do well because it's the only game going in Glen Ridge, but I am definitely not a fan.
Too loud and I got very sick from eating tuna there on Thursday night. NEVER AGAIN!
I really wanted to like this place. But it's just not worth bothering with. I came here when they had just opened and had a few drinks and some mini burgers at the bar. They were not bad, so we planned to come back. Went back a few weeks ago for dinner; was not too great. I had the steak frites, which was listed as sort of their main meal. Just not that great; the steak was under-seasoned and slightly under-cooked. The fries were nothing to write home about. Nothing bad, please understand. But nothing that would make me want to come back either. Your mileage may vary, of course, but mine kind of dissuaded me from ever coming back.
I was there the other day for the barista event on election day. I ordered 2 bottles of wine and was asked to leave my table prior to even having one glass from each bottle. The food was great but I was asked to leave the table before I could enjoy it. The manager asked our waitress to rush us out. I was really offended- out tab was $130 and nothing was comped considering that we could not finish our food or wine. I thought it was very rude and unprofessional. I can not express how much me and my friend were offended by being asked to leave our table in the middle of dinner.
once again I can not express how rude the manager was and how much we spent to be treated so rudely
Ive been to Fitzgeralds a number of times. My girlfriend orders an espresso martini, which is one of the biggest pain in the ass drinks for a bartender. At Egans, they charge you close to $20 for this drink, and will give you an ugly face when you ask for it.
Fitzgeralds charges you significantly less, and serve you with a smile.
I will continue to come back , and I also recently heard that they have wings for .25cents on tuesdays and 1.99 mussels
Have been to Fitzgeralds many times and have to say that it keeps getting better- The food is extremely creative and not what you would expect from a tavern. The beer selection has improved as well -Dogfish head was on here a while ago and needs to come back- The 1.99 apps are the best deal in town!
Once again I can not express how creative the food is
I hope you don't get sick earing at your new watering hole. I vomited for 2 days after a dinner at Fitzgerald's and it was a small fortune to boot. Never again!
What a wonderful selection of bar appetizer's! Much healthier than the greasey ones served at Egan's.
