241midland

We've waved to the throngs of folks gathered at this house from the Baristanet float; now 241 Midland Ave. in Montclair is on the market. If you love a Fourth of July parade and a Victorian, this 5-bedroom home on almost a half acre is for sale for $1,250,000 (taxes are $20,142). Here's a look inside (get a load of the woodwork...)

Breathtaking! Now that is what I call a HOME!

All this for less than $1300?
Where do I sign?

Wa- wa- wa- WOW! I'm drooling over that woodwork! Wish I could afford to get that look in my humble abode...

That's one of the best blocks in town, in my humble opinion. Wide streets, sparse traffic, quick walk to the Watchung station, beautiful homes...and it's not in "upper" Montclair (though close). It'll be interesting to see how fast or slow this property goes.

Love this and my mother would love the William Morris wallpaper. But, half an acre, seems like a waste of space for only one house - it would fit like 6 granite, pressboard McMansions for sure. Pflocker would love that. Hmmm. I have a plan...

The landscaping is atrocious, really, really bad. Nice lot though. Lot's of possibilities.

I'd say the landscaping of the cracks in the walkway has matured well, though...

Wow! That's a work of art.

If they'd discount that house, say, oh... about $700K or so, you know, to make up for that appalling garden, I'd put in a bid right now!

I only wish they'd give tours to admirers. I'd like to sit in that gorgeous, wood-festooned room and just appreciate its beauty for a few hours. Gee, think the owners would mind?

With all due respect, no new construction can ever come close to that.

I agree with whippersnapper -- there are several outstanding homes on that block. I've been an admirer for many years.

OMG....that is simply georgeous!!!!

*drool*

Hmmm... how much is that Mega Millions up to?

This house is FABulous! I have seen the entire interior, and it needs NOTHING--gives true meaning to the phrase "move-in condition". All of the woodwork is in pristine condition and everything has been meticulously cared for and lovingly restored, from the floors to the period light fixtures. If you want live in a home that exudes warmth and a bit of Victorian history, this is the one for you!

This Real Estate Page is full of realtor Shills.

(I know the real estate market is in a slump - but this tactic rediculous!)

Anyone who pays 1.25M for this needs their head examining. It's not even on decent land.

And it's made of wood. Anyone hear of the three little pigs?

Awful lot of gushing positive reviews here - looks suspect to me!
