$329k is what a starter home goes for these days? Starting what, their medical career?
Better yet, for a "single person"? The first one is nice, but I would never look at anything with only one bath (even 1.5 is fine), which I'm sure is why the house is priced somewhat reasonable for the area.
Do people really think real estate has recovered completely? The house on Laurel is nice...dead end street, next to Mountainside Park and the Mountain train station, etc., but it is 2,890 sq. ft on a .29 acre plot and it was last assessed at 861K. I wonder what comps the RE agent was using to help price this because houses of that size on that much land are not going for that amount. Maybe they're hoping for an NYC buyer who isn't very price sensitive.
Elnino, based on your real estate posts on this site, you are sounding like a broken record, or perhaps a jilted realtor...
South end ella, would you buy that house for over 900K? Is that why you are upset by my posts, or are you the seller, perhaps? Or a realtor who is trying to pull one over on some buyers and doesn't want to highlight the facts about the property?
Just take a look at the listings on MLS and you can see which are out of whack pretty easily. Baristanet has just happened to highlight two of them recently.
Ouch! Did I touch a nerve? Trust me, I have no skin in this game and am not upset by your posts. I'm lucky that I am not in the market for a home in this economy. Real estate is a mere hobby o'mine. Like many in town, I enjoy going to open houses and seeing the unique character each home in our town has. I just couldn't help but notice that for every real estate post on this site, you have something negative to say. It's a simple game of supply and demand. Around here people put a premium on many things that are not in an assessment, like distance to public transportation and whether it is a busy vs. quiet street. To each his own. I was just remarking on the predictability and tone of your posts on this site. I know who to turn to the next time I need exact square footage, acreage and assessment on properties in town. Oh, and a negative take on whether it will ever sell at the asking price.
